  • Cave Hill. The cemeteries in Kentucky are nothing short of marvelous. We went to several but Cave Hill was my favorite. Not only was it stunning but it's also one of the largest in the world. Colonel Sanders is buried here but we didn't find his grave. Next time!
  • Louisville Cemetery. Another wonderful Kentucky cemetery.
  • Port Gamble Cemetery. This is a cemetery I went to on my 40th birthday. I felt like I was in New England with the tidy white picket fence and fall colors. It really was not only a beautiful town but a charming cemetery if one can be called that.
  • Melbourne, Australia. Here are some photos from cemeteries in the Melbourne area of Australia. These were taken during my two week visit in March, 2005.
  • Evergreen Cemetery. These pictures come from The Evergreen Cemetery in Everett, Washington.
  • Lake View. These pictures come from the Lake View cemetery.
  • Mount Pleasant. These pictures come from the Mount Pleasant cemetery located on the top of Queen Anne Hill near Seattle, Washington. It's quite a difficult place to find. If I hadn't of had a friend show me how to get there, I'd never have found it. I really liked this place. It was situated around many quaint homes and really tucked away. It started to rain which cut my visit short so I'd like to go back again and take some more photos.
  • Calvary Cemetery. These pictures are from the Calvary Cemetery located in the University District near Seattle, Washington.
  • Virginia City. These pictures come from the Virginia City cemetery in the high desert of Nevada. I visit this cemetery every time I visit this town with my parents. It's such a great place! I can just feel the energy from an era gone by.
  • Sunnyside Cemetery. I took these pictures during a visit to Whidbey Island in January '05. It was only a degree or two above freezing and my lips were numb and my nose pink! It was only an hour after taking these pictures that the snow started falling and I almost didn't make it back to my room at Fort Casey Inn.
  • Bear Creek Cemetery. This is one of the smallest cemeteries I've ever visited. I drive by it frequently and liked how it was nestled in the woods. There are so many stories at cemeteries and I found one set of burials where four members of the same family died in one year. It must have been an accident. The photo came out blurry so I didn't include it here, but perhaps I'll go back one day.
  • Oysterville Cemetery. I took these during my recent trip to Ilwaco with my sister and her family. I liked the fact that it had a burial for a Native American chief.
