A Raven's Heart

A fettered mind, unfettered feet below,
In the pillowy softness of the snow.
The wind tugs at my blond hair, lightly in tow,
Tortured skies yield to the moon's effervescent glow.

A Raven's heart is such that few can ever know,
Except the man with the soul of the Crow.
With his magical spirit he can bind and sow,
The seed in a garden for a union to grow.

Poems

The below poems and prose are a sampling from my collection. The imagery from the "Hour of Separation" poem is taken from various pictures that I took from cemeteries. The only image not mine in this compilation is the church steeple. Winter, The Lovers and now On Salted Air were written as a recommendation from someone who said to create something that didn't rhyme-- so there you have it.

Enjoy!
Anne

Here are some of my favorite poems by Edgar Allan Poe.

Ah! A new favorite: Charles Baudelaire. He lived at the same period of Poe so both have probably influence each other. Below are samples from his "The Flowers of Evil" collection (1857, 1861).
